The elephant conservation center team has been involved in numerous projects in Laos for the protection of the Asian elephants since 2001. It hosts Laos’ first hospital dedicated to elephants that are victims of logging accidents or affected by diseases. Set up to protect the Asian elephants inside Laos and gives travelers to Laos an opportunity to experience these great creatures while contributing to the safeguarding of these endangered animals at the same time.

This 1-2 hour long trek goes from the small hamlet of Nong Khiaw to the mountain top which has a stunning view of the serene Nam Ou River.

Pha Pheng Waterfall
Considered to be the largest cascade in Southeast Asia, the Pha Pheng Waterfall makes for an incredibly spectacular experience for tourists. The breathtaking crescendo of gushing water provides an incredible view for tourists and travelers while the walking routes that line the waterfall are used by everyone to view the falls from different directions.
Kong Lor Caves
Hidden in the wilderness of central Laos, off the tourist trail and not the easiest to get to, Tham Kong Lo Cave is one of Southeast Asia’s geological wonders and should not to be missed. Tham Kong Lo or Kong Lor Cave is a karst limestone cave that you can glide through on a boat, in Phu Hin Bun National Park. It’s about 130 km north of Thakhek, on the Nam Hin Bun River, which flows into the cave.
