Kerala is one of the most popular places to stay in Kerala, south India for travelers when they visit. It’s most famous for it’s beautiful beaches like Kovalam and Varkala and of course the scenic backwater river cruises. I loved the chilled out vibe here but what really stood out to me about Kerala was how friendly the locals were. I was amazed at how well they all spoke English (they put my Spanish skills to shame). It made traveling in Kerala a very easy and laidback affair. During my time in Kerala I stumbled across some wonderfully kooky accommodation options for the more adventurous or downright eccentric travelers out there.
Here’s a few of my top picks for unusual but cool places to stay in Kerala.
